How have you guys been doing this week? Ive had a pretty interesting week here in the beautiful city of bogota. Its been raining a whole lot and seeing as my shoes aren’t quite as waterproof as when they were new its been real fun. Other than that we started a new program here in the mission with stands. It involves chosing one of 8 questions and putting together a stand (see the attached picture.)  Then we stand on a busy street and peopel come talk to us. Its been way fun. So far we have worked with, how can i find peace and happines and how can i know if God has a plan for me. Its been interesting to see lots of people stop to think about what we are asking and some even talk to us.   So anyway with the kiosks its been a fun and new way to work. Hmm weve got stake conf tonight so our time to write is pretty short but i love you all and ill write more next week.

How have you guys been doing? Ive been doing really good here in bogota. Weve been enjoying some great sunny weather these days so thats been nice. Today my companions and I went to the temple and it was amazing like always. I really enjoyed my time there. It was great to have a nice peaceful expirience. I needed to be there. Here where i am serving right now is in the middle of the city, or downtown. It gets pretty chaotic at times and i see some pretty sad, scary, depressing, and interesting things. Even just here sittign in the office i can see the traffic, ambulances and everybody running around. This week was a little bit different though. Seeing as its la semana santa, (holy week). It was a little bit more peaceful in the city. It did make me alittle bit sad though. Just seeing how it feels like everyone only seems to remember Christ this week and then just forget about Him after sunday. Im really glad we have the chance to partake of the sacrament every week to remmeber alll that he has done for us. The church put out a great video and site about easter, heres a link if you havent seen it.   http://easter.mormon.org/   well id also like to tell you about another cool thing that happened this week. On sunday night we didnt have anything to do for about half an hour so i decided to call all the unknown numbers in my cell phone. We were able to contact a great investigator named andrea and now she s preparing to get baptised on the 24th of may, (happy birthday dad). We are looking forwar dot teaching here more this week. we also brought a new yorker to church on sunday so that was interesting, He doesnt speak much spanish but we found him on the street and he´s pretty interested. Also we contacted a muslim man but it doenst look like he is very willing to change. Well thats just a littl ebit of what happened in this week. I love and miss you all.

Its a little bit late here and we don’t have much time to write but i’ve got a few minutes. Today we had a pretty crazy day. Allegedly it was our pday but we had a lot of work to do. We were able squeeze a little bit of fun in though. We went to the museum of gold and it was really cool. I went when i was in the mtc as well but t was fun to go back. It was interesting to think and try to find connections with the nephites and the lamanites. Ill send some pictures in a minute. This week has been a good week. It was my first week here in the offices without my trainer but it was fine. Ive pretty much got it all down now. we also had a good week teaching our investigators. weve started teaching a new yorker who doesnt speak spanish so thats been fun. He’s really lost and needs a lot of help but he has committed to come to church tomorrow. We have also working hard with a 18 year old named Fabio. Its been pretty hard because he works a lot and doesnt keep his commitments. Its a challege but we are sticking with him for now. We have also been trying to get to know the members of the ward, thats a goal we have for this next week. well thats a little bit about my week this week. I love you and miss you all and ill talk to you later.

How have you all been doing? Ive been enjoying my day today. We woke up, cleaned up the house and then came here to the offices. Here we watched conferenced on the computors. It was excelent. I loved all the talks especially Elder Holland. Then the senior missionaries from the south invited us to play basketball and lunch so we did that. It had been a really long time before we played basketball and it was great. We played for about 45 min and then went to eat. The sister,(they are from the states) made us taco salads and they were delicious. It made me miss moms cooking alot. Then they also invite us to watch the second session of conference in his hous so we did that. quicksidenote, she had also made us zuchini bread but it was not as good as moms. The second session of conference was great as well. Now we are taking this time to write the fam and to prepare to go see the priesthood session in president Andelins house. Im looking forward to it. We also had a great week this week. Even though weve got less time to proselyte we were able to invite 2 people to get baptised and we are really praying that they can progress. We have also been working hard to get the members to do their home teaching. that is a big challenge here. Im really enjoying my time here. In terms of administration this week, everything is in order. Im pretty much doing everything now. Its a lot to learn. well thats all ive got i love and miss you all.

I’ve been doing pretty good here. Its been a long week though.  I pretty much go home every night with a huge headache, its a whole lot to learn. On the up side i feel like all the math will prepare me for college. Its a pretty big responsibility having to deal with administrative duties in the mission. This week ive been studying alot about tithing. Its a principale that before the mission I really didn’t understand but now its really important. I’m not just dealing with money im dealing with the sacrifices real people have made just to be obedient. I’m trying to save every peso to make those sacrifices  go to the best use posible.
Other than the office work I’ve been working hard in the field as well. Weve only got a few hours every day to work so its precious time. We make every appointment count. We work withthe members everyday and thats been really fulfilling. A lot of the investigators we have have not been progressing but we try to find new people everyday. This week we started teaching a chinese couple, they almost dont speak any spanish so thats been a challenge. Luckily we are able to print off all kinds of material in chinese to help them . I’ve attached some random pics for yall as well. Here’s me at my desk. With my companion elder meruvia, and my trainer elder himes. also my view at night time. I love you all and hope all is well

How are yall doing? Ive been doing great here this week its been raining everyday so i invested in a new umbrella. This week we had the priveledge to talk to a priest and 2 pastors. Those were interesting expiriences. It wasnt a good teaching opportunity because they just wanted to debate. We did our best though. We learned a lot from those events. I learned that we just need to teach with the spirit and if the people want to change they will but if not there is nothing we can do. I asked the adventist if Christ himself came and told him that what we were teaching were true if he would believe. He told me that he wouldnt believe Him. You can deny Elder Sawyer but denying Christ is not logical. It made me think about the milenium when christ is king but still some people wont believe him. Other than that we also went to the temple with our investigators. That was a great trip. The sisters gave us a tour and showed them around. The really loved it. We are just waiting until they get married so they can get baptised. Thats about all this week. I love you all.

How have things been going? Today we had a great day. weve been talking alot with a great member who is a lawyer to help us out with marriage questions. He took us to the center of bogota today to look at some things in a notary. It all worked out perfectly and it looks like we will have a marriage and baptisms in these upcoming weeks. We are pretty excited about that. We also took a tour around the center of bogota. Things we saw. Tallest building in bogota, the bull fighting stadium, the white house and other gov buildings, We also found a really cheap place to buy ties for 2 dollars. I bought two new ties. That was all we did today but it was well worth it. Weve been working hard here in villa maria. Lots of knocking on doors and contacting people. Its been fun and weve found some great, some interesting, and awesome crazy people. This week it looks like we will have conferences with president and the area president so we are pretty excited. Well thats about all ive got. Keep reading the book of mormon. I love you all and ill talk to you next week.
