Well this is it… I’ve reached the end of my time of service. I cant believe that these two years have gone by so fast. It seems like just yesterday when I was saying bye to mom in Provo. I cant even begin to describe just how amazing these two years have been. I have come to know that our Heavenly Father really lives and loves us. Thats something I may have doubted before, but I have felt and seen so many miracles that I cant deny it now. I have learned how the Gospel of Jesus Christ has the power to change lives. I have been an eye witness to the power of the atonement, but the biggest changes i have seen have been in myself. I will admit that I am far from being perfect but now I know who I am. One man (he could have very well been extremely drunk) once taught me a great lesson. While we were on the public bus talking about the gospel he told me ¨I know so many people on this planet but the only person I really need to get to know is myself.¨

One of the scriptures that has helped me a lot is in Philippians 4;13   13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
The mission was not an easy task. It has been one of the hardest things I have ever done. Try not to judge me but I have had times when Ive cried asking God why certain things are happening and why I wasn’t seeing the changes I wanted to see. I learned that the trials in our lives are to make us stronger and they are so vital to mold us into becoming worthy to be called Children of God. i know that if we can exercising our faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and also faith in ourselves we will return to live with God after this life. I know that all of the promises He has made us are true but its up to us to earn them. Like i learned in the mission, as long as we work hard and choose the right, God we help us with the rest.
Well just like any other pday my short hour of internet time is already up so its time to close. I just wanted to finish by thanking each and everyone of you for all your prayers and support. It has truly made a difference during this time here. Also like a good missionary I want to invite you all to keep, or start exercising your faith this week. i promise that if you have faith you will see miracles in your lives. I’ve seen thousands during my time here.

P.S   I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

Week 2 in alamos.

Wow I could not be happier to be here in this ward at this point in my mission. I feel like its my time to put everything ive learned into practice and to work hard until the end. We had a great week this week. Even though we are both new here in the area we just trusted in the Lord and got to work. My companion is great, he is really humble and ready to work. This week we worked on finding less active members and trying to get referals from the members. It all worked out perfectly. It requiered a lot of faith and a lot of walking under the sun but we were able to find a lot of people to teach. This is a ward with a lot of challenges but we are trying to help them the best that we can. Im so excited to be able to work here a little bit longer. Im pretty sure I wont have any baptisms here but im gonna try to leave a legacy and plant the seeds for the future. Well ive gotta write some more letters but i love you all and ill talk to you later.

First off I apologize for the late email. Its been a pretty crazy week and I havent had much free time, but as promised, heres my email. So to start things off im still here in the offices. I thought for sure I would be out by now but its been fine. Even though our time is limited we are still doing great work here. The past sunday I was so happy because 6 of the less active members we have been teaching came to church. Its always a great moment to see that these people are taking the steps towards becoming better people. We have also been working hard with a new family we found up on the mountain. They were listening to the missionaries about 3 years ago but lost contact until we found them again. They are a great family and its been really fun to be able to teach them. The hardest part will be trying to get them to church. They live pretty far up the mountain and with lots of little kids itll be tough. We have faith though. I heard some great news this week as well. One of the first families that i was teaching in bucaramanga just got baptised this week, Its been over a year since we found them and started teaching them but it was finally their time. Its cool to see how the Lord is always working. Its always on His time schedule though. He knows when the people are truely ready to change.

I love you all and thanks for everything.

Remember the Alamo,

Hello everybody. I’m writing you all from my new area!!! Alamos!!! I’m still here in Bogota but now I’m more on the eastern side of the city. I’m really looking forward to working here. As of this moment my companion still hasn’t gotten here so ive been working with the zone leaders. Its been great so far. I’ve gotten to know a lot of the ward members and have been forming my own personal plan for when my companion gets here. I know that i don’t have a lot of time left to really waste time here so my plan is just to work, work and work. I’m really excited because it looks like a lot of the members here are really interested in working with us. I’m pretty glad that im not in the offices anymore but it truly was a great learning experience. It was probably the most stressful time of my life but i definitely learned a lot of stuff to help me in the future. I think one of the biggest attributes I improved is in patience. It was pretty tough dealing with businesses, house owners and dumb missionaries but i had to do it. One of the best parts about being a missionary is that you always strive to have a Christlike attitude. That can be hard sometimes but it makes everything better. Even though its a hard task, when we try to model our lives after our Savior we can really start to see the results and that we are becoming better people. The path to becoming a true disciple is not always easy but I can promise you all that its worth it.

First off I need to apologize, ive been slacking a little bit in my letters. Ive been pretty focused on personal letters but now im getting back on course and ill try to make this a good letter. Hmm where should we start….. So this week in the beautiful country of Colombia we had some great experiences. To start off im still here in the offices… president had told me i would get out for my last transfer but the Lord works in mysterious ways and He still has work for me to do here so  here i am. I am enjoying it though. Its really been teaching me a lot of stuff that im sure will really help me in my life. Im learning how to manage money, deal with lots of (usually) angry people, manage all kinds of tasks, and to take care of about 2 million dollars worth of responsibilities. Its been fun, but i do miss being in the field all the time. But anyway to start out with general Colombia news everybody here is world cup crazy. Colombia has won there first two games and people are going nuts. I have never seen such big celebrations. I kinda like it because the whole country is united for this common cause. Everybody always has on their Colombian jerseys. We were walking back to the offices right when Colombia won and we recorded a video of the craziness, here it is. This was just a little bit. It was non stop honking and yelling for about 3 hours.. The US won as well but nobody cared about that. In other sports related news, we have been working a lot with the less active members in this ward. We had a great experience where we went and shared a less active sister and her husband. We shared a really powerful lesson about the atonement and helped her make goals to move forward. It was  great lesson and when we finished she was so happy and told us that we were the answers to her prayers and that she had been praying for someone to help her and we were that answer. That´s one of the most gratifying and satisfying things about doing the Lords work. You are there to do what He would do, visit those that He would visits, and say what He would say. Its the best feeling in the world and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Well that’s about all i´ve got for this week. Im looking forward to your replies.

How are you all doing? I’ve been doing great here in the beautiful city of Bogota. We spent a good portion of this week looking for and teaching less active members, It’s been way fun. We climbed up mountains, went into the hood, saw some disturbing things in downtown Bogotá, and taught the gospel. Sounds like a good week. We have been teaching some great people, one of them is a brother whose first son was just born. His wife is a Jehovah witness and she is always saying some weird stuff she´s a nice lady. The brother is way nice and wants to change and come back to church. One thing I learned this week is how hard it is to judge, I realized that judgment is a Godlike quality but in our mortal state we just judge and think people are the worst. Trying to have christlike love for everyone is hard but it’s something I’ve been learning to develop on the mission. If Christ could love and forgive the people that were crucifying Him, i think we should be capable of that love as well. It’s pretty tough sometimes but when you love everybody you see miracles and lots of changes. I just love the Gospel, it’s so awesome. I considered myself a relatively intelligent person but now that I’ve been studying the scriptures and the gospel things have just started to make sense. It’s amazing how all the answers are out there just waiting to be discovered. Everyday my purpose here just becomes clearer and clearer. Well I’m pretty much out of time but i love you all and ill talk to you later.

How have you guys been doing this week? Ive had a pretty interesting week here in the beautiful city of bogota. Its been raining a whole lot and seeing as my shoes aren’t quite as waterproof as when they were new its been real fun. Other than that we started a new program here in the mission with stands. It involves chosing one of 8 questions and putting together a stand (see the attached picture.)  Then we stand on a busy street and peopel come talk to us. Its been way fun. So far we have worked with, how can i find peace and happines and how can i know if God has a plan for me. Its been interesting to see lots of people stop to think about what we are asking and some even talk to us.   So anyway with the kiosks its been a fun and new way to work. Hmm weve got stake conf tonight so our time to write is pretty short but i love you all and ill write more next week.

How have you all been doing? Ive been enjoying my day today. We woke up, cleaned up the house and then came here to the offices. Here we watched conferenced on the computors. It was excelent. I loved all the talks especially Elder Holland. Then the senior missionaries from the south invited us to play basketball and lunch so we did that. It had been a really long time before we played basketball and it was great. We played for about 45 min and then went to eat. The sister,(they are from the states) made us taco salads and they were delicious. It made me miss moms cooking alot. Then they also invite us to watch the second session of conference in his hous so we did that. quicksidenote, she had also made us zuchini bread but it was not as good as moms. The second session of conference was great as well. Now we are taking this time to write the fam and to prepare to go see the priesthood session in president Andelins house. Im looking forward to it. We also had a great week this week. Even though weve got less time to proselyte we were able to invite 2 people to get baptised and we are really praying that they can progress. We have also been working hard to get the members to do their home teaching. that is a big challenge here. Im really enjoying my time here. In terms of administration this week, everything is in order. Im pretty much doing everything now. Its a lot to learn. well thats all ive got i love and miss you all.
